Paperworks Co Magnificent Card Kit Monday

It's Monday!  The last work monday for a while for me....that means more crafting time! Woohoo!

Today I've got another card to show you that I made with the June kit from Paperworks Co.  I'm loving that kit.

Here's my card:

I used the V Day Bunny from the Rachelle Anne Miller collection. I think this stamp is my favorite one so far. Even though it’s a valentine stamp, I’m using it for an anytime card. Just to say ‘I love you’. I love versatile stamps, don’t you? The other nice thing about the kit this month is that the patterned papers work so well together. I’ve used two patterns today in my card and even though they are very different patterns, the colors really mesh well. I love that! Another nice thing about a kit, wouldn’t you say?

I hope you’re having as much fun as I am with this month’s card kit. I wonder what July’s kit will bring? Enjoy your monday and I’ll see you next week!

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

I was inspired to join the June Blog Hop over at Papertrey Ink. Also, I have some stamp sets that haven't seen in yet (hangs her head in shame) and it's high time they did!

Here's the inspiration picture:

Isn't it cool?  I was totally drawn to the pastel colors and I had a great idea so I just had to create. I love those moments, don't you?

Here's what I created:
I made a group of three cards.  I decided to experiment using clear and white embossing powder to see which one I liked the best. As it turns out, at the end I really can't tell the difference. The white embossing does stand out a bit more than the clear, but I like both.

Here's a close up of each card:

Please pop over to the Capture the Moment blog to add your card to the hop. It's open until 11p, EST tonight. You can also check out everyone's submissions. They are some beautiful pieces of artwork over there.

Thanks for hopping by.

Supplies:
Ink:  SU ballet blue, pretty in pink, celery green, versamark
Embellishments:  Martha Stewart twine, charm, irisdescent stickles, clear and white embossing powder
Tools:  Spellbinders circles and scalloped circles, Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Happy Birthday Tilda

I spent all day on this card. That's a first for me. I'm usually a speedy crafter, and whip out cards at a faster rate than that. However, today I was case-ing one of Claudia's cards from Pretty Pressings.  I really love Claudia's cards and I decided to challenge myself. Here's the card I case-d.  On her post, Claudia did invite people to copy her card and make one of their own, so I did.

Here's the front view:

It's a gate fold / joy fold card. It's got many, many layers, which is not my usual style.  I altered how the card closes, by adding two bows instead of the one Claudia used.  I also altered some of the ways the dp covers the base, as well as the embellishments.

Here's the right side of the inner gate fold:

Here's the left side of the inner gate fold:
All in all, it was a productive Saturday and I'm happy with my creation. It's a good feeling to try to work outside your comfort zone.  I hope your day was just as productive.

Supplies used:
Paper:  cardstock, My Mind's Eye Lime Twist
Embellishments:  flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Iridescent stickles, SU jewel brads, ribbon from Michaels
Stamps:  LOTV sentiment, Magnolia Tilda birthday
Ink:  momento, SU ruby red
Tools:  Spellbinders fancy tags, ovals, scalloped ovals, Martha Stewart edge daisy punch

Mad for Markers Big Copical Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Mad for Markers BIG Copical blog hop! We are excited today to be hopping around the blogworld with bloggers from all over the world who all LOVE colouring with COPICS!
If you can here from Leanne's blog then you are right on track.. if not then please go to Sammi's blog  to start at the beginning!

Here is my card for the hop:

I made a twisted easel card using an image from The Greeting Farm.  She is one image from the Miss Anya Collection and is available here

Here's the front view of my card.

It's a bit hard to see but I added some stickles around the image as well as the scalloped kraft circle on the base of the card, and on the tips of the flowers.  I used a spellbinders die to cut out the flourishes and used some Wild Orchid flowers.  A Martha Stewart punch was used for the leaves around the flowers.  I also colored the ribbon to match my card. I used my copic marker R89 to do that.  Did you know that you can use your copic markers to color embellishments?  It's super easy and it can make everything on your card match, if you want that look.

Once you have completed the hop please leave a comment and vote for your favourite creations... and you and the person you voted for might receive a little surprise prize!!

But to get there make sure you follow the hop and leave some love for all the participants... your next stop is Gin Oak.....Have a colourful day!!

Paperworks Co Magnificent Card Kit

Don’t you love card kits? They take the pain out of choosing paper and matching embellishments. I just love June’s card kit. The bright colors really add some spice to my cards. Here’s my sample for this week:

I used an Abigail C stamp called Spring Swing. She’s so cute! I colored her up with my copics and added some liquid pearls to her earrings. I used some sparkly stickles to the scalloped nestabilitie border for bling. The button and brads in the corners are also from the kit.

I’m having tons of fun with this card kit. Are you? I’d love to see what you are making with this kit. If you’ve added a card to your blog using this kit, why not leave a comment so I can pop over and have a look? I’d love to see your work.

Enjoy your day….and I hope it’s a beautiful sunny one where ever you are.

Paperworks Co Wednesday Super Sketch #85

I've got a card for you today for the Paperworks Co Wednesday Super Sketch #85. Yah, I know it's a couple of days late, but for some reason my scheduled post didn't work and with the hectic last two days I didn't check until this morning. Opps.  Sorry about that.   I've got a few minutes before I'm off to Calgary, so here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I haven't made any birthday cards in ages so this was the perfect time to add one to my stash.  I used a Rachelle Anne Miller stamp available here. It's called A Surprise Cheer and I love that cute litte mouse.  I colored it up with my copics and added some sparkly stickles to the icing. I also used the same orange copic marker on the chipboard letters and then added some glossy accents on top to make them pop--although that doesn't show so well in the picture.   The stars cuttlebug folder was used for the background and voila!  A birthday card is born!

Why don't you join us and play along in this sketch challenge? Up for grabs are your choice of two PWCO stamps or this month's PWCO card kit for the winner!  How awesome is that?!  Remember, though, that you have to play along with a minimum of two PWCO sketch challenges to be entered into the draw.

You’ve got until midnight on June 30 to link up your creations – have fun!!   Head over here to link up your creation.

It's Magnificent Card Kit Monday

It's a Paperworks Co Magnificent Card Kit Monday!  Here's my card for today:

I received my card kit from Peggy on Friday and quickly whipped up my first DT card. Wow! What a great kit! The papers are bright and summery and I love the patterned papers! Such a great set of designs for the heat of summer.

If you haven’t tried a card kit yet from Paperworks Co, pop on over to the store and get yourself one. This is a terrific pack this month.

It's a Bear today.

I saw these gorgeous bear stamps on a blog the other day and just couldn't resist buying a few for myself.  I really love these bears. They remind me so much of the teddy I had as a young girl. (I still have it actually.)

Here he is:

This digital stamp is called "For You" and you can find it here.  I decided also to join the challenge at Teddy Bo, which is shaped cards, and I made a flower. I used my spellbinders to create all the parts of the flower. The petals were run through the cuttlebug using the swiss dots folder for more texture and then I glued it all together.  Totally homemade--no templates involved.  I colored the image with my copics and added a flower mask and button in the bottom corner.   I also added some pink perfect pearls around the inside of the flower for some embellishment.
