A Sweet Pea of a Different Kind

This is the first time I've inked up this Sweet Pea image. I've had this image on my crafting table for a while now, but haven't had a chance to ink her up.  I'm glad I finally got around to it, as it's a gorgeous image, with lots of possibilities.

She's called Ching-Chou Kuik's September Rhythm and is available here.  I chose to use aqua as the main color scheme here, and the background dp has a shimmer to it (can't remember where it's from though).  Copics were used to color it, and I used a SU punch for the edge.  The flourish was created with the Tim Holtza Sizzix Die--gotta love that die!  I added some glitter to the flourishes for added bling.  Lastly, I finished it off with some silver ribbon.

Hope you like it!
Janet

It's Faerie Time!

I've become enchanted by the Emerald Faerie Collection. Have you seen it yet?  I've fallen in love. If you haven't, pop over to Deb's to check out their collection. Two new faeries have just been released.

Copics were used to color the image, and I pop dotted an extra set of wings to add more dimension.  I added some stickles to the wings and to the pink background strips. I'm sure that faeries have glitter on them, right?   The flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts, along with the clear flower gems (I love those).   The flower greenery were punched out with a Martha Stewart punch.  The paper is Prima.

BTW--for anyone who is interested, we didn't get much of the snow that was forecasted, so today didn't turn out to be a crafting day, but it was a regular work day.

A Vision in Purples

This is my card sample for my Copic Club Class tonight at Gone Scrappin' In Bloom in Rossburn, MB.

I got the idea for this card from a tutorial on the Flourishes blog.  It's right here. I loved the idea of the dimension, so I re-created it.  I added some glossy accents to the lady bug to make her stand out. I added some flowersoft to the centre of the flower for texture.  I used V02,04 and 06 to color the petals and R27 for the ladybug and YG93 and 95 for the greenery. I followed the sketch from I (heart) 2stamp for this month as well.

I'm looking forward to the class tonight. It's always a fun time with the ladies at Gone Scrappin' in Bloom!  If you get the chance, sign up for the copic club. It's tons of fun, and we learn alot.

TGIF!  Janet

Come Waltz With Me

It's blog waltz time again and welcome to my waltz.  I've chosen to make my card match up with the sketch challenge this week as well. I've used the free digi image that Claire kindly gave us to use too.

I used ,my spellbinders labels die to cut out the image and I colored it with my copics. I glued it to the the background paper and carefully trimmed the background paper to fit around the die cut.  I added some bling with the green rhinestones.  I cut out the base of the card using another spellbinders die and did the same with the dp that I placed on the card base.

Creative Cowgirls Go Monochromatic!

Our theme for the next two weeks at Creative Cowgirls is Monochromatic. I totally embraced this theme and have gone crazy with it. watch my upcoming cards and you will see quite a few like this.

We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles--a company with totally amazing images.  I got to play with these dragons:

I thought this image would make a great card for a younger child so I went with the birthday theme and used the cuttlebug birthday folder. I used my copics to color the image and created a tent topper card.

I also decided to make one of these same cards but in a pink color scheme.  The only difference besides the colors was that I added some stickles to the dragon's wings. I wanted to do the same for the blue dragon, but the men in my house vetoed that idea!

Make sure that you check out Delicious Doodles. It's definitely worth the trip.  They will be giving our WINNER  "3 IMAGES OF CHOICE"  and all of the "TOP 3" "1 IMAGE OF CHOICE".  Wow!   What great prizes!

Stop over at the Creative Cowgirls Blog to see all the DT creations. They are amazing this week...as always.

Monochromatic card

I'm experimenting with greys and monochromatic colors.  I've seen a few on some blogs I follow and have been intrigued, so here IO am trying one of my own.

I used my copics, specifically C0, C1, C3, C6, and C8 to color this image.  I added Glossy Accents to the shoes, and a white dot to each eye with my Uniball pen. I stayed with my black and white papers (so old that I don't remember the company--isn't it good to use up paper?!).  I added some metallic silver paper for bling, some Basic Grey red Rhinestones, red ribbon, and some silver charms I got from Flourishes.

Brave Girl Album

This is my Brave Girl Album. It's been a long time in the making as I've had the idea for a very long time, ever since I came across the Brave Girl website and their inspirational readings.

I get the daily readings from the Brave Girls and find them very inspirational and thought provoking and as I've been reading them, I wanted a way to preserve the ones that mean the most to me.  I came across an album like this one in The Classroom, and thought it was the perfect way to capture these thoughts.  I've used alot of Tim Holtz accoutrements and hardware...totally love his stuff.

It's become a class over at Scrapbooking at Shelley's so if you like the idea of the album, come and join me and learn how to make it and turn it into your own album, and personalize it to make it your own style.

I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
